Dating back to the ancient Greeks & Romans when they used to honour the maternal Gods, Mothering Sunday is now about celebrating your mothers and motherhood along with all the important women in your life. In fact, more phone calls are made on this day than any other day of the year.
At the Kings Hotel we hope you will come and enjoy some fantastic food and company with your families. Take a look at our menu being served from 12-5pm on the 31st March.

Starters
- Duck liver parfait with black truffle oil, toasted walnuts, pear chutney & brioche toast
- Roast butternut squash, garlic and rosemary soup with warm bread & salted butter
- Salt & Pepper squid with saffron aioli
- Grilled asparagus with smoked garlic butter, poached hens’ egg, parmesan & hollandaise
- Prawn, crab and avocado cocktail with brown bread and salted butter
Mains
- Roast sirloin of beef with Yorkshire pudding, cauliflower cheese, carrot and swede puree, roast parsnips & seasonal greens
- Roast half chicken with Yorkshire pudding, cauliflower cheese, carrot and swede puree, roast parsnips & seasonal greens
- Slow roast shoulder of lamb with Yorkshire pudding, cauliflower cheese, carrot and swede puree, roast parsnips & seasonal greens
- Luxury fish pie with salmon, king prawns and scallops topped with cheddar mashed potato and served with peas and sugar snaps
